Teacher training course with Renee Scott

Renee Scott

Renee Scott’s lifelong love of movement began in childhood and has taken her from the world’s most prestigious ballet stages to the forefront of Pilates education. Her career began with the Royal Academy of Dance in Australia, leading to a scholarship at the elite Hamburg Ballet School, where she earned her Diploma of Dance and performed with the internationally acclaimed Hamburg Ballet Company.

After touring with renowned companies across Europe and working alongside some of the world’s most respected choreographers, Renee returned to Australia with a desire to explore new forms of movement. It was Pilates that truly captured her heart, offering a blend of structure, strength, and grace that resonated with her ballet roots.

Renee’s first formal training in Pilates took place in New York under Romana Kryzanowska — a direct student of Joseph Pilates. From there, she went on to earn certifications with Pilates International, Balanced Body, and specialist training in pre- and post-natal Pilates. She is the only Australian to have completed Rael Isacowitz’s elite Passing the Torch mentorship in Los Angeles.

In 2001, Renee opened her first Pilates studio and soon after began developing her own methods — culminating in the creation of Body Maestro and the launch of the Barre Attack and Balance 8 Pilates, two programs that have become trusted pathways for instructors worldwide. To date, Renee has taught thousands of classes and trained, mentored, and inspired countless instructors across Australia and beyond. Many of her students have gone on to open successful studios or become leading instructors in their communities.

A member and principal trainer with the Pilates Alliance Australasia, Renee is a regular presenter at major industry events such as PAA and FILEX. She holds additional qualifications in yoga, group fitness, and personal training — all of which influence her well-rounded and intelligent approach to movement.

Today, Renee is based in Bondi Beach, where she runs Balance Moves Pilates & Barre Studio with her husband Tim and their two children, Olivia and Harry. Through her courses, mentoring, and live events, she continues to empower instructors to grow with confidence, clarity, and creativity.

“Everyone is the architect of their own happiness.”

  • Katrina Dawson

Renee Scott and the Barre Attack team are professionals in every way. I joined the Barre Attack network 5 years ago and haven't looked back. This year I did the Barre Attack Instructor Foundations Course and it really exceeded all of my expectations, even over zoom during COVID. It was excellent - professional, fun, very well structured and expertly facilitated.

I started doing Barre about 8 years ago but truly fell in love with Barre after switching over to Barre Attack brand before having my first son. Another son later, I've been doing Barre Attack ever since - the intensity, technique and flow of has me hooked! I recently became an accredited Barre Attack Instructor and there is continuous learning, a support network and many more benefits. I cannot recommend Renee and the team more highly. If you're thinking about Barre Attack and becoming part of the Instructor network, don't hesitate. Best wishes, Katrina

I have known and follow Barre Attack through social media for quite some time. Finally taken this covid-opportunity to complete Barre Attack Foundation Training. I’m part of the first batch for the program via online and completed the exam, just fresh off last week!! It was a supportive and informative experience through online with the group. Renee is a fantastic facilitator who has a strong background, knowledge and experience, and also ensuring we have the confidence to demo and deliver the classes. After the program, I have confidence and I’m really looking forward to teach barre in a few weeks time!! I’d recommend to anyone who has personal interest with Barre, whether for personal practice or career. It goes without saying coming out of covid stronger, thank you Renee and Barre Attack team!!!

Having tried a number of "barre" techniques, "Barre Attack" is my Goldilocks find..."just right"! Renee and her team have created a syllabus that you can grow into over many years, and still be challenged, have fun, be motivated, and work hard! It is a safe, effective, full body workout that improves, balance, strength, flexibility, cardio, tone. I loved it so much that I decided to become a Barre Attack Instructor (as an ex-dancer and teacher). I have now done all the training courses, and cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Renee and her team. The support, positivity, generosity (of time, personal attention, teaching techniques, information) provided is amazing and often hard to find. It is such a family...there is no pretention: everyone is special and valued. They really want their clients and instructors to have the best outcomes possible. I feel fully prepared and confident in my instructing.

I also have so many clients who give me great feedback about the classes I run. All thanks to the lovely Renee and her team!! Phoebe needs a special mention, as she was so encouraging and supportive of me :)

Don't waste time with other types of "Barre" - you will find the whole package here

Renee Scott-director from Barre Attack is incredible!

I highly recommend the courses run by Barre Attack- the course was fun, informative, and I feel a great addition to "Pilates Nest'.

I look forward to continuing my journey of 'health/ movement' with Renee, and learning from one if the best in the industry.

    Thank you Renee!

I love Barre Attack for a total body, all-round workout. You get a great cardio workout but most importantly, it is focused on technique, and participants understand what they are working and why. Renee's training programs are exceptional. I highly recommend the teacher training and recommend Barre Attack for participants of all fitness levels!

  • Rebecca Wallstrum

Renee was absolutely phenomenal in the instructor training workshops! I feel honoured to be trained by the creator herself. She was so thorough, I feel fully prepared to be an excellent instructor myself. Barre Attack is a tough workout that leaves you (or me, at least!) dripping with sweat every time, and it doesn't get any better than that! Who doesn't want a fun, full-body workout surrounded by awesome instructors and great peeps?!
